Organize and implement the IBA Outstanding Administrator Award.
Application form should be sent to the IBA magazine editor for inclusion in the IBA
magazine winter issue.
Deadline for forms should be the first week of April.
Categories should include superintendent, high school principal, and
elementarylmiddle school principal.
Select a committee that will review the application forms and choose the recipients
by April 20. The results are sent to the IBA secretary who will order plaques.
Present plaques to the recipients at the IBA Conference Banquet and read a short
bio and nominating band director comments.
Organize and implement the School Administrators of Iowa Scholarship.
Application form should be sent to the IBA magazine editor for inclusion in the IBA
magazine winter issue.
Deadline for audition tapes should be early April.
Select a committee to review tapes and choose 5 or 6 candidates.
Candidates will audition during the IBA Conference in a room equipped with a
piano.
Select a panel of 3 judges to listen to the candidates. Students should provide
judge's copies of their solos.
Supply the candidate's letters of application at the audition.
Communicate with the directors of all of the students who have sent applications
immediately after the decision is made.
The scholarship amount is $500 and the recipient must be available to perform at
the SAI convention in August.
The results are sent to the SAI executive secretary (currently Mr. Gaylord Tryon,
515-224-3370).
