JUNIOR HIGH/MIDDLE SCHOOL AFFAIRS CHAIR
(appointed by the president)
  1. Attend all IBA business meetings and submit a report.
  2. Schedule and prepare an agenda for at least 2 meetings of the IBA Junior HighIMiddle School Affairs Committee. Committee members will be reimbursed mileage by the IBA. It is suggested that members use school vehicles when possible to avoid expenses.
  3. Committee members are selected by each district to serve a 3 year term (successive terms are acceptable).
  4. Organize selection and ordering of the IBA Honor Band music and contract a guest composerlconductor for the IBA Honor Band with input from the committee.
  5. Organize the music and folders for the IBA Honor Band.
    1. Send music and folders to district representatives for distribution to Honor Band members.
    2. Collect and organize Honor Band member information from committee members.
    3. Prepare information letters for Honor Band members.
  6. Oversee arrangements with the guest composerlconductor regarding the following:
    1. Selection of music.
    2. Preparation of commissioned work.
    3. Travel, hotel, and meal arrangements (coordioate this with the IBA President).
  7. Oversee final arrangements for the Honor Band performance at the IBA Conference including:
    1. Correspond with the IBA Equipment Chair regarding equipment needs.
    2. Oversee printing of programs for the Honor Band Concert.
    3. Oversee printing of certificates for the Honor Band members.
    4. Chair the Honor Band Concert.
    5. Chair the clinic given by the guest composerlconductor.
